In the nursing home for people suffering from dementia Hogeweyk in the Dutch town Weesp, the inhabitants stay as independent as possible. They are treated as individuals that should have fun in the last phase of their life.
Nothing in Hogeweyk is like life in a traditional nursing home. Living in small groups and in their own traditional atmosphere the elderly can still determine their own life as much as possible. They can take along their own furniture, cook, do shopping, listen to music and decide themselves when they want to eat. Although most of the elderly suffer from senile dementia they are still able to run their lives as independent as possible.
The innovative nursing home Hogeweyk is listed in the global life style projects at the Expo 2000 in Hannover. For the program Mittagsmagazin Europe correspondent Tina Hassel from the Brussels bureau from the German first public TV channel ARD wants to broadcast a reportage about Hogeweyk a needs video footage and interviews at short notice.
For this reportage Featurez gave advice, did the research, set-up and planning of the filming, booked a camera crew, did the direction and interviews, translations and delivered the video material personally.
