Hospital security against resistant bacteria and viruses

In Germany a congress is organised about the security in hospitals against resistant bacteria and viruses. The German public TV reportage program Tagesthemen wants to find out how the Dutch are protecting patients and hospital personnel against antibiotics resistant bacteria.

It turns out that washing hands frequently and in the right way is vital. Also the fact that in the Netherlands labs are located in hospitals turns out to speed up the monitoring and discovery.

A professor in Molecular Epidemiology of infection diseases from the University medical centre in Utrecht explains and shows how the Dutch organise the protection of hospitals against resistant bacteria.
