Dutch Queens Day

Morgenmagazin, the early morning program from the first German public TV channel ARD, reports live from Apeldoorn, the city that Queen Beatrix and her family will visit later in the day to celebrate the traditional Dutch Queens Day.

Early in the morning yhe gate of the royal palace Het Loo is still closed and only four old women from the religious town of Staphorst, dressed in traditional costumes, are already present waiting to catch a glimpse of the Queen. Dutch historian and royalty specialist Reinildis van Ditshuyzen answers questions from ARD reporter Michael Heussen and gives her views on the royal family and the festive day. The main topic is the possible resignation of Queen Beatrix.

For this production Featurez gave advice, did research, set-up, organised a licence for the SNG van, organised the royalty specialist and accompanied the live transmissions.
