Dutch general elections

On the 29th of October 2025, general elections were held in the Netherlands. After two years of right-wing government in the Netherlands and the populist politician Geert Wilders from the Party for Freedom (PVV) bringing it down, the question is whether Wilders will be able to win these elections again. Ultimately, it will turn out to be a neck-and-neck race between the PVV and the social-liberal party D66. In the end D66 wins the election with 28.455 seat more than the PVV.

The public Catalan broadcaster 3CAT sends Europe correspondent Pilar Abril Novella to the Netherlands to cover the elections. She visits Rotterdam and the traditional small town Volendam where Geert Wilders has a meet & greet with his supporters and where he gives interviews to media. On the election day she visits the polling station at the The Hague Central Station and she covers the outcome of the elections at the press centre at the parliament.

Activities: research, advice, accompanying filming, analyses and translations.
