ITN is thinking about producing a documentary about designer drug sales and use in Amsterdam nightlife for Channel 4.
A designer drug is a structural or functional analog of a controlled substance that has been designed to mimic the pharmacological effects of the original drug, while avoiding classification as illegal and/or detection in standard drug tests. Designer drugs include psychoactive substances that have been designated as new psychoactive substances as well as analogs of performance-enhancing drugs such as designer steroids.
The specialist ITN producer wants to have actual information about the designer drugs use and -trade in the Netherlands and advise on the possibilities to find contributors willing to speak on camera, on filming in nightlife settings in Amsterdam and if there might be legal or practical barriers.
