The release a few arrested ‘body packers’ (couriers that swallow packets of cocaine) by the Dutch authorities because of capacity problems caused a political outrage. The result is more Dutch drug controls, more personnel in jails, extra temporary jails more juridical capacity and a new law to put more people in one cell.
Only in January this year, already 457 body packers were arrested at the Amsterdam airport Schiphol. Because of this wave cocaine body packers, the Dutch juridical system starts to get totally disrupted.
For the program Report München from the Germ state broadcaster Bayerisches Fernsehen reporter Klaus Wiendl travels to the Netherlands to film for a reportage about the cocaine body packers phenomena and to find out what the Dutch are doing to fight cocaine coming into Germany .
General views are filmed at a special body packers jail, Klaus Wiendl interviews girls that swallowed cocaine packets and interviews the responsible civil servant from the Ministry of Justice and a Dutch crime journalist. A Dutch member of parliament strongly advises to take the cocaine from all the body packers and just send the smugglers home.
