Avian Influenza hits the Netherlands

While millions of Dutch chickens are killed to fight the Avian Influenza virus spreading like wildfire, the first cases of the disease are reported in Germany.

For a reportage about the outbreak for the program Morgenmagazin from the German first public TV channel ARD reporter Thomas Schneider travels to the Netherlands. He portrays and interviews one of the first Dutch chicken farmers that was confronted with the devastating disease gives insight in the serious consequences it had and still has on his life. After the traumatic experience, months of waiting without an income will follow. It will take years for the branch to recover.

For this reportage Featurez did the research, set-up, planning of the filming, booked a camera crew, accompanied the filming and did translations.
