On the 1st of October 2000 the Dutch Brothel ban was lifted. Dutch brothels became legal business and prostitutes entrepreneurs. The big question is: does it work?
Reporter Angelica Fell from the German second broadcaster ZDF program Mona Lisa travels to the Netherlands for the filming of a background reportage about how the legalisation of the Dutch prostitution branch is working in practice.
For the reportage Angelica Fell interviews a brothel owner, a sex theatre owner and sex workers in the red light district in Amsterdam. Also brothel owner André van Dorst, the chairman from an association of brothel owners and one of his sex workers, Marieke van Doornik from the prostitution research organisation the Mr. De Graaf Foundation and Mariska Majoor ex-sex worker and founder of the Prostitution Information Centre in Amsterdam are interviewed.
For this background reportage Featurez gave advice, did the research, set-up and planning of the filming, booked a camera crew, did part of the direction and interviews and organised archive video footage.
