The Netherlands is called the Columbia of Europe mainly because of XTC production and export, but also because of the heroin transfers to the UK, Germany and France.
For a reportage for the program Europamagazin from the first German public TV channel ARD, Europe correspondent Michael Grytz travels to the Netherlands to produce a background reportage about the Netherlands as drug producing and exporting country and on the actual status of the Dutch drug policy.
In the reportage Michael Grytz visits Novadic-Kentron an organisation in Eindhoven that receives and helps addicts where interviews a drug prevention officer and synthetic drugs tester. The prevention officer explains how he prevents the use of XTC by informing the target group and by testing XTC pills for clients.
In Amsterdam he portrays and interviews the owner of a coffeeshop and interviews clients. In Eindhoven he visits the headquarters of the Unit Synthetic Drugs and interviews a police XTC specialist and a public prosecutor responsible for the fight against production of and trade in synthetic drugs that explains how the Dutch organised their fight against synthetic drugs.
For this reportage Featurez gave advice, did the research, set-up and planning, accompanied the filming and organised video footage from a rave party.
