While the Gay wedding is constantly in the news in the United States and gays are waiting in line to marry before it is too late, the Netherlands already introduced the legal gay marriage on the first of April 2001.
For the documentary program Weltjournal from the Austrian public TV broadcaster ORF, senior reporter Alexander Steinbach travels to the Netherlands to check out the status of the gay wedding in The Netherlands.
The Dutch association for gays and the Dutch Catholic church give their views. A married gay couple explain why they are married and if it is satisfactory. The people in the street make clear that the gay wedding is absolutely no issue in the Dutch culture. The coverage ends with filming the gay area in Amsterdam and in gay bar April.
For this reportage Featurez gave advice, did the research, set-up and planning of the filming, booked a rental car and did the driving, accompanied the filming and did street interviews.
