During the opening of the new exhibition ‘Amsterdam and the House of Orange’ at the Amsterdam Historical Museum, Queen Beatrix saw her life reflected. Although most of the exhibit shows the centuries of often testy relations between Amsterdam and the princely, later royal family, there is also a lot of personal history of Beatrix on display.
The museum wanted to host this exhibition for quite some time. For a while it was thought the investiture of Prince Willem-Alexander as King would provide a good opportunity, till the museum realised that this can still take a few years. Now the exhibition is dedicate to Queen Beatrix’ 70th birthday.
The tabloid program Brisant from the German first public TV channel ARD covers the opening of the exhibition.
For this production Featurez did research, accompanied the filming and organised pool material.
