Nowhere the Dutch local elections are as exciting as in Rotterdam. The late Pim fortuyn party Leefbaar Rotterdam (Livable Rotterdam) is fighting for the vote on the right side with both the PVV from Geert Wilders as the Forum for Democracy from the new populist Thierry Baudet teaming up with Leefbaar Rotterdam.
On the other side of the political spectrum the Dutch Turkish party DENK and the local Islamic party NIDA fight for the migrant votes and the parties in the middle – mostly the traditional parties – fear for their future. An exciting clash between far right and right and between migrant oriented parties in a seriously divided city.
For the France 5 political talk show C Politique filming reporter Yohan Malka comes to the Netherlands to follow candidates from Leefbaar Rotterdam and Nida to find out why the most multicultural city of the Netherlands fell apart in so many factions. The reportage is used in a talk show about populism.
For this reportage Featurez gave advice, did the research, set up and planning, accompanied the filming, did Dutch interviews, translations and organised and upload local TV footage.
