TOP YEAR FOR BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS EXPECTED

The Central Bureau for Food Trade (CBL) expects record turnover of EUR 350 million in biological products for this year. Especially the sales in supermarkets increased during the first half of 2007.

These same supermarkets are going to make biological products more attractive in future by lowering prices. The CBL announced this on Tuesday at the presentation of the book Visie op biologisch (Outlook on biological products) to Parliament.

Supermarkets will aim to have their percentage of biological products grow twice as fast as the total market in the coming years. read more (expatica.com)
