500 MEDITATING MEN CAN MAKE TERRORISM DISAPPEAR

In an advertisement in a Dutch newspaper 500 young vital men where asked to start a one year course to make The Netherlands unconquerable. The participants will be educated in ‘total knowledge’ and in the ‘total nature law’, so they will make themselves and the The Netherlands immeasurably strong, invulnerable and invincible. All these goals where to be reached by ‘transcendental meditation’, which brings the activities in the mind to an absolute minimum, while there is still consciousness.

Although it all sounds pretty ‘soft’ the method seems to work, since one of the founders of a new successful Dutch internet provider claims that he owes this to the ‘transcendental meditation’ method. Last week even a comprehensive school decided that they will give the pupils the opportunity to practise ‘transcendental meditation’ in the new school year.

The idea of ‘transcendental meditation’ comes form ‘Maharishi’ (‘the great observer’) who is the head of the international ‘transcendental meditation’ organisation, that has its headquarters in a little Dutch village. Since the course is quite expensive and since the participants need to reserve a year, most of the hundreds of entries fell off again. That’s why the spiritual organisation decided to set up a European ‘transcendental meditation’ university for 500 men and 500 women. The figure 500 was chosen since that will be the number of meditative minds that will be needed to make The Netherlands unconquerable. A spokesman of the organisation: ‘If we permanently meditate with 500 people, than even terrorists do not have a chance in this country.’

A few years ago the ‘transcendental meditation’ organisation started to run their own currency to reduce poverty and to promote a balanced world economy, and create peace. Since October 2002, Dutch residents can obtain and exchange a special issue of the Raam at a large Dutch bank. The bank is amongst the 20 largest financial institutions in the world. A Prospectus is available for Dutch residents detailing the availability and use of the Raam. The new currency has a fixed exchange rate of 10 Euros for one Raam, and is already being used by a growing number of shops and businesses in the Netherlands. The Raam has also been circulating in the USA and can be exchanged at Vedic City, Iowa. The circulation of the RAAM NL will serve as an inspirational example for other countries to use the Raam in the financing of poverty removal and peace-creating projects. more features
