DUTCH CIVIL SERVANTS FORCED
TO WORK AT HOME
The Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs
and the Unions reached an agreement on 'teleworking' for around
110.000 civil servants. The Dutch now finally follow the example
of the Dutch trade and industry. The latter already putted
this new way of working in practise a few years ago.
The civil servants forced to work at home,
will get extra facilities like a computer, a fax and or a
mobile phone. Besides this they will get an extra monthly
compensation of € 60 for making available their private space.
For the rest juridical agreements are made
on the legal position of the teleworking civil servant. Some
of the points: design of place to work, how to communicate
with the chef and the number of hours someone has to work
at home.
De new teleworking regulation will start
on June 1, 2001. more
